Each year the Downtown Los Angeles JACL Chapters helps
organize a Los Angeles Dodger game for senior citizens living at the
Little Tokyo Towers. Baseball has always been a traditional past time
for our first generation Japanese American parents and grand parents.
In past years, our Tokyo Tower Residents had the opportunity to watch
their favorite players in action including Hideo Nomo, Kaz Ishii, Hideki
Matsui and Ichiro.
The Downtown JACL has helped subsidize tickets for the seniors. The transportation has been donated by Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry. Both the Downtown JACL and the residents of the Little Tokyo Towers thank Councilwoman Jan Perry for her years of support for this important event.
"For many tower residents, this is the only annual organized outing for the seniors," stated Kitty Sankey. "They feel so happy when they are at the Dodger game."
